backing up a keychain

Hi everybody,
quick question: is it possible to backup a keychain so it can be restored, say, after a reformat? I have an external drive, and would like to restore my system some time in the near future... is this possible? I see an export menu item, but it is greyed out.

thanks

Consider using SuperDuper.

Re: backing up a keychain
Just make copies somewhere of::

/Library/Keychains/System.keychain

and, all the keychain files in

/Users/userid/Library/Keychains/*.keychain

Then just put them back where they belong after you restore.

Keychain Access doesn't recognise them automatically after you restore. You have to go through its import menu the first time.
