RELIABLE "DUMMY" INSURANCE???

Howdy yall,

My applecare plan has just ended and I'm wondering if any of u guys can point out a trustworthy insurance company (paradox?) that would offer a worldwide (or at least an all North American) coverage plan on EVERYTHING at a decent rate?

Or am I just setting myself up for yet another rip-off here?

Thanks for the tip Fletch, but unfortunately these guys don't do BC, Canada.

Any other suggestions?

I looked at the "About Safeware" page on Safeware.com saw this quote below which should cover you in Canada:

Another option is to cover it under a Renter's or Homeowner's insurance plan, whichever applies for you. With any of them, make sure you find out up front everything covered and not covered.

I gave safeware a call and they told me that the only 2 Canadian provinces they provide coverage for are Alberta and Ontario, so I'm @#$% out of luck here in BC.

I'll check into renter's insurance, but the thing is that I use my Pismo on the road a lot of the time, so that probably wouldn't do it either. But thanks for the info none the less

You should be able to get something through renter's insurance. I picked up an 'all-hazards' rider on the renters insurance for mine; I think it's $50 a year for $2500 coverage, and they don't care what happened to it, where it was, or whether I use it for personal or business use, or whatever; it's just covered. Though I probably should ask for the small print, just to be on the safe side...

Yep Rubar, there's always something. I have an insurance plan on my camcorder that I'm trying to get some use out of right now, and I tell u: these people do ANYTHING to keep the little guy down. I'm talking 2hr holds, the run-around, ANYTHING

that's ok, I'll get the bastards... sooner or later

Anyway, I'll check into the renter's insurance tomorrow. It would certainly be nice if u'r right about this one. Thanks.

I was just about to buy the insurance plan from safeway (150/yr.) for my pb when I decided to call my parents homeowners insurance co. They told me it was covered under their insurance. Even though it's mine and I paid for it it's covered for theft, accidental spills and drops, software viruses, etc. , on the road or at my dorm at college in a different city since I technically still live at home. Glad I called. By the way it is USAA Insurance Co.
