Out of sleep blue screen before proper screen?

I've noticed that when I bring my Macbook Pro out of sleep that often the first screen I'm presented with is just an all blue screen. Then the actual screen appears. It takes about 3 to 5 seconds for the screen to refresh itself to a normal screen. Have others found this; is it common.

I am having the same issue. I updated the firmware on my Macbook Pro and then it went away. After about a week it is back.

My Pb G4 also do this since I own it. I think it's not an issue, it's just about the VRAM refreshing I guess.

Well, now mine is NOT doing it again. Not sure why it does it for awhile and then doesn't do it for awhile. I would prefer it didn't ever do it.

I see this maybe 5% of the time I wake my PowerBook from sleep. It looks like exactly the same blue screen delay you get during the transition when plugging or unplugging an external monitor, in case that has anything to do with it. As if the Mac thinks it needs to re-confirm the video state, or something.

Today I opened my MBP up and I got the blue screen (as usual), but this time it changed my screen resolution. To what, I don't know. I forgot to check. So maybe you're onto something, moose_n_squirrel.

It sounds like something different's going on with the MBPs because I've never seen it change the resolution on my PB, and the frequency of it happening is a lot higher in this thread.

My resolution got changed again upon exiting sleep. It went all the way down to 400x600. If I didn't know the option+brightness button shortcut, I would probably be a lot angrier than I am right now. I have to call AppleCare soon anyway to diagnose a faulty disk drive, so I'll ask them about it and hope they have an answer.

My resolution will occasionally change also. Putting it back to sleep and bringing it back out usually fixes the problem. However, the windows then need to be resized.

I'm also having the same blue screen post-sleep experience with my MacBook Pro. It's been going on for about a month now, right around the time of the last OS update.

So far I've had no issues with resolution, though.

My guess is it's a bug that Apple will fix in its next software update. If not, I can live with it easily enough but it is a little disconcerting since this never happened before.

So I've started to pay attention more to the "blue screen", it seems like it only happens when my MBP is plugged in, not when it is running off the battery.
