Re: Loking to get a Imac and a Few Questions i have
The Apple website states the following:

Support for external display in extended desktop
. .<!--color-->- Digital resolutions up to 1920 x 1200
. .<!--color-->- Analog resolutions up to 2048 x 1536

Support for external display in video mirroring mode

Mini-DVI output port with support for DVI, VGA, S-video,
. .<!--color-->and composite video connections via adapter(4)

http://www.apple.com/imac/specs.html

Hope it helps.

It should. But you would not know for sure until you try with the equipment you have or are planning to get. You know - the iMac does come with a Combo Drive or a Super Drive (2.4x Dual Layer burn DVD+R DL/DVDRW/CD-RW).

You will need to purchase one of these, depending on the connection(s) that the display supports...

Apple Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter ( M9320G/A )
Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter ( M9321G/B ) NOTE: Dual-link DVI-D connector, meaning DVI-I displays will not work. Picture: DVI Connectors

Ethernet or Wi-Fi will probably be best. Windows isn't nearly as FireWire ( IEEE 1394 ) friendly.
