lower caSe "S" key not working!!

Hey guyS,
I've got a Strange problem. Recently I've had the lowercaSe "S" key to Stop working properly aS you can tell from thiS poSt. Only holding down the Shift key and uSing the upper caSe "S" workS. Even with CapS Lock on it won't Show a upper caSe "S". One thing I have noticed iS when I boot up computer at login Screen, I'm able to uSe the lowercaSe "S", So I know it iSn't broken. PleaSe help aS I can't inStall any new programS due to my admin paSSword containing a lower caSe "S", not to mention it iS extremely irritating. ThankS for your expertiSe in advance.

Please list any entries in your user's Login Items panel, as well as anything in the "Other" section of System Preferences...I'm pretty sure this is an application/extension conflict, but I don't recall the name of the offending app off the top of my head.

It is an app. I faintly remember a situation like this some time ago. But, I think, it was a different key.

...Argh! It's just not coming...

In the AccountS pane under Startup itemS (5):
Internet Reminder
.Virex login (I need to delete don't have virex any longer)
ical Alarm Scheduler
SpeechSyntheSiSServer
iTuneSHelper

In the "other" Section of SyStem prefS I have Norton Quick Menu (no longer uSe Norton either)

And do you have any icons in your menubar, besides the Apple-provided ones?

Nope, all apple menu itemS. I juSt thought of Something a couple of minuteS ago. Around the Same time I Started experiencing thiS iSSue, I waS meSSing around with Speech and liStening featureS of OSX (I have Panther). I've tried to turn all that off and have no "S" key aSSigned to anything. JuSt a thought... I appreciate your help.

In caSe it matterS I have a G3 iBook, 600 mhz running Panther (10.3.9)

If you login as a new user, does the problem recur?

Just figured out and fixed the problem. In system preferences > speech > spoken user interface > Other spoken items, i deselected the "Selected text when the key is pressed" box. Problem solved. I feel like an idiot now since I'm the one who caused the problem in the first place!
