Mass MAC Deployment

Hello,

I am just wondering if there is a way to make mass MAC deployments easier by creating a clone or ghost of one and deploying it on all of our MAC's and then making minor changes on the clones such as name and users. I am asking this because we are replacing alot of our users' PC's will Macbook Pro's and installing all of the programs they needs takes alot of time. Is there any program we can use to "image" or "clone" macbooks like you can do with a pc?

Thanks,

Re: Mass MAC Deployment
Yes, many people do this regularly. I used to manage about 600 Macs at a University. We used NetBoot/NetRestore for imaging, and then Radmind for maintenance/parity.

Start here: http://www.bombich.com/mactips/workshop.html

Read everything here, familiarize yourself with the concepts and tools. Then start reading the forums at Bombich or archives at the MacEnterprise mailing list for extra info.

Another alternative is Penn State's PSU Blast Image, a tool one of their programmers wrote that does a similar task as NetRestore.
