iMovie[HD] shortcut?

Is there a way to automate the process of putting a transition in between images drawn from iPhoto?
Currently I have to drag the crossfade transition in between EVERY image. In a large slide show that really wears my wrist out.
I'd use iPhoto but I like the ease of iMovie.

Thanks.

Building the slideshow in iPhoto is probably the best answer . Second best is to create the transition settings you want to use, then apply the transition between the first two photos. Now select the transition itself in the timeline and hit Command-C to copy it.

Select the next photo, hit Command-V. Next photo, Command-V. Next photo, Command-V. Repeat until done.

Still not the greatest, but it beats using the Transition panel repeatedly.

If you're not trying to get absolute perfect timing and dont' mind limiting your choice of transitions, you can create a quick slideshow in iDVD.

Just drag all of the images in, select timing and transition and let it build from there. You can also import a song from iTunes and have it time the show to the length of the track. Again, you lose precise control but it does a nice job for quick shows.

In iMovie HD 6: If you have all the photos showing as clips in your timeline, highlight the first clip, then go to the last clip, holding the shift key down and click. This will highlight all the clips. Now select editing->transitions and choose "cross dissolve" (or whatever), set the speed, click on "add" and the transition will be inserted between each clip.
