Not sure what RTFA means.

I read "Adobe Systemss upgrade for its Flash Player, released on Tuesday, adds support for one of the latest video encoding standards as well as new audio support."

NOPE, STILL NOT RELEASED (it'll soon be 12 hours now since the story was written exactly that way).

What language do you speak or read? Obviously, not even the first line of the story.

Journalists should not write lines they don't know are true or clearly know are false. That's my point.
Sure it'll be released, eventually. That's not the point.

So STFU DH, and enjoy your "later today." whenever that "eventually" happens.

PS: All they had to do was use the word "ANNOUNCED" instead of "RELEASED" (and in the past tense no less! HAHA!)
Yes, it IS a BIG DIFFERENCE.

Flash vs Silverlight

Based on what I know so far, I would prefer Flash to Silverlight any day.

This new "we love all platforms" Microsoft does not seem to be real.

That's absolutely NOT the case. I think you should read the engineer's comments in the link in the story. The Flash Player WILL be able to play various H.264 files including mp4 and those specific to iTunes/iPod. There's nothing to imply that H.264 will have to be wrapped in SWF at all in my read of it.

The Flash Player Beta will be released TODAY. It's a beta but it'll be out today.

They just had to update their website to offer the download... so it is out ALREADY!

They already released as in private beta now it is public beta. hence the reason that Apple made deal with YouTube hmm?
