Griffin Technology snap in case
I was in the Apple Store today and asked the guy next to me what case he was buying - People in the Apple Stores are usually nice people - and he showed me a rubbery case he was going to buy but then whipped out his iPhone which was in this snap in case - you can put the iPhone in facing in or facing out which I like.

Re: iphone cases
Hi there,

I bought the Speck Toughskin rubberized case.

PROS: Good protection from scratches to the rear and edges, the shape of the case gives me more grip on the phone, belt clip doubles as a stand for watching videos.

CONS: Its a little bulky and the rubbery material makes it hard to get into/out of tight pockets, no screen protection unless its holstered in the belt clip.

Hope that helps!

Re: iphone cases
I have used both types of Griffin cases, the plastic one and the leather one.

Plastic Griffen

Pros - Easy to get phone in and out of holster. Holster rotates 90 degrees for comfort. Holster can be used as a horizontal stand and since its back is open the iPhone is visible through it. The inside of the holster is felt lined.

Cons - Rotating Belt Clip can break off the holster. I have gone through two of these. Just getting caught up in a seatbelt sent the iphone (in the holster) flying. The holster would be perfect if the rotating clip was better mounted to the holster.

Leather Griffin

Pros - Alternate solution to the plastic one. I phone slides in and out with relative ease.

Cons - Cannot use case as a stand for viewing videos. The belt clip inserts into the leather case through a slot. Once the slot breaks in some, the holster could (and has) come apart from the belt clip.

For Griffen, they need to focus on the belt clip to holster assembly for both holsters.

Currently, I am using a Dio holster purchased in the airport in Atlanta because my second plastic Griffen just popped of the belt clip. iPhone sits only horizontally and the holster cannot be used as a video stand. That said, the clip and holster are one piece and the iphone is well protected in this leather case. After one month, the case still looks good and I have not accidentally dropped my phone from my hip

Re: iphone cases
I just bought the Power Support Crystal Jacket set from the apple store last night and I have to say it is really nice. I was contemplating between that and the Contour iSee. Both were $30 but I decided on the Power Support since it came with a clear case, holster, and a thin screen protector. I won't ever use the holster since I like to keep phones in my pocket, but I did use the thin film screen protector.

The clear case snaps on and fits perfectly. There's no spaces between the iPhone and the case, so it is very snug. All the ports and buttons are accessible, except if you want to dock, you have to dock using the usb cable only, not the docking stand. Otherwise, everything is great. The case doesnt add much to bulk, maybe adding 4millimeters to overall dimensions. I can already see lots of micro-scratches on the case, which would have gotten onto the iPhone without it. I do think I will have to clean the case weekly to make sure nothing like sand or dust gets in between the case and the iPhone creating scratches.

Overall, I'd say it gets the job done very well and I'm extremely pleased with the purchase.
