weird issues with my iphone

these issues only recently started to surface and i'm not sure why.

first and most important, I'll sometimes look down at my phone and see the "play" symbol in the top right showing that iPod is playing, but i know it isn't and going into iPod comfirms this. i can then select a song and press play and it will play. this happens quite a bit while browsing safari but sometimes also just randomly shows up on the iphone home screen. i'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if i should start considering warranty (after attempting a software restore of course, i'm holding out on that to avoid having to redo everything again).

second, it seems the screen is having a difficult time turning back on after pulling the phone away from my ear when ending a phone conversation. it used to turn on just enough for me to press "end call" before returning to locked mode if i had received a call while it was locked. it will also sometimes do this if i had made the call, the phone will apparently put itself into lock mode and not wake up (i had to repeatedly hit the wake/sleep and "home" buttons until it finally came back on- enough time passed to make me very concerned). again, wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

thanks

Re: weird issues with my iphone
I had very similar issues. The lock function seems to be very erratic during calls. I have also had the mysterious "play" symbol, although I haven't notic3ed specific times it occurs. I also have seen the drained battery life, warm iPhone and other simi-erratic items since my update to 1.1.1.

In fact, the lock function in general can be very erratic, and often I find it won't wake up without multiple tries to the home and "lock" button.
