Re: Apple trademark filing revives handheld gaming rumors
The solution to game availability is to make the game media bootable. Game developers will eventually make a shift from relying on the host Operating System to provide requirements. Once they boot their own OS with all it's own requirements, it really just becomes a hardware compatibility issue. Which is where is should be anyway. I remember when you had to close windows and run your games from DOS. Then microsoft start feeding the game developers massive portions of the code to make their lives "easier". Then they said, "Instead of redistributing all that redundant code with every game, we'll just put it into windows so that you can all share one copy." And behold! You have a requirement that all these games run on windows version X.
