Console displays repeating error message

In the Console app, I noticed that I am getting a repeating message every few seconds that says "Nov 1 11:51:47 Macintosh mDNSResponder28: handleLNTGetExternalAddressResponse: Router returned bad address
Nov 1 11:51:47 Macintosh mDNSResponder28: Error getting external address 3"

Seems like somethings going on, but I don't have a clue as to where to look to troubleshoot. Does it have something to do with Bonjour? Any thoughts or suggestions would be very welcomed...

I'm getting the same message about every 8 seconds... wonder what's going on?

Same here. In my case, I think it has to do with Back to My Mac having problems with my D-Link router (DI-604). All I know is that I'm getting this message repeatedly and BMM is not working. And, yes, I have UPnP turned on in the router.

Hi,

Shut down Back To My Mac, sign out of .Mac and things will quiet down, I just found out.
(SysPrefs>.Mac) My guess is it's Bonjour related.

Bye,

Dan.

Re: Console displays repeating error message

I installed 10.5.1 and the errors went away

I'm pretty sure this is a red herring. I just installed a fresh copy of 10.5.1 from DVD and updated immediately with everything Software Update had to offer, and this error started occurring right away. Therefore, it's pretty sure NOT to be fixed in 10.5.1 or later--something else stopped your error messages. Another user reported that it is Back-To-My-Mac related and so I turned that off (not that I had ever turned it on--Apple seems to enable it for you if you have .Mac.) That did indeed stop the errors. But it does not explain why they are happening, and since I do want to eventually use Back-To-My-Mac, I'd really like to know.
