Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
"Shipping" is an odd word in this industry sometimes. I placed my order on January 10 and it hasn't shipped yet. The page linked in the article says "end of March." Maybe by "shipping" they mean "to the duplication facility."

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
Adobe has not posted this information anywhere on its site. Also, some are reporting that their status has changed to indicated a delayed shipping date.

Read some of the comments on MacNN's article on this subject.

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
I have an expected arrival date of April 2, 2008. I ordered January 18. Status is Pending. Credit card hasn't been charged yet. So... we'll see what the day brings.

I have great hopes for this software. Elements 4 runs very poorly on my MacBook.

I can't wait to get my hands on it. Now, if they could only bring Premiere elements to the Mac as well.

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
Adobe isn't shipping the boxed version until the end of March according to their site, but you CAN download it and buy a serial number at the Adobe site - I just checked. So, if you're REALLY impatient, do it the environmentally friendly way (no box, no CD, no shipping requiring the burning of fossil fuels... ;) ) It's not as if you get anything special in the box these days - there's no printed manual like the old days!! And if you're upgrading, you don't have to fuss with the rebate, from the looks of it. (BTW - there is NO mention of a rebate at the Adobe site - they charge $20 less for the upgrade version - boxed or download)

@Paddy

That is for the Windows version. Mac version is still in preorder and cannot even be downloaded yet.

I would like to know where you found it for download.

Thank God for student discounts. I can get Photoshop for a little more money at my University.

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
I just paid for the downloadable copy, but it isn't available for download yet. However, it does list today (March 24) as the day downloads will be available. As of now, I'm waiting on an email from Adobe.

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac

Odd that they allow you to go so far as to PAY for it but then don't allow you to download it!! I went as far as the checkout, but since I have PS3 don't really need Elements (though may get it for my kids to use) I didn't actually check out and pay.

Here's the link: Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
i read the article above, thinking PE 6 was available now, and purchased the (downloadable) upgrade. wish i'd scrolled down and read the comments here first. turns out it's not available yet (as of Mar 24 2008), and is listed as a "Preorder" on my list of purchases. At least there's also a note saying my credit card won't be charged until the product is available. i think someone made the "it's available" announcement too soon.

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
At 2:14AM (EST) I received this:

"Thank you very much for ordering from the Adobe Store!

The following products from order AD001439057 are now available for download:

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh (Mac,English)
Contact Customer Service" blah, blah (download instructions)"

There's just 1 catch. After downloading; NO SERIAL NUMBER.. On the download page, your are instructed to "Contact Customer Service". And you can't use trial mode. it's greyed out. Please.... I mean, why release software if the user can't use it?

Anyway, sent a message to Customer Server. I"d be surprised if I hear back from them within the week. Way to go Adobe. And shame on MacWorld for not checking this out before being Adobe's blow horn.

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
Just an update: Seems, for those of us who pre-ordered, the serial numbers have not been generated. And you can't use the product till you get one. LOL

24 to 48 hours. Should arrive via email. Lovely. And typical Adobe.

Re: Photoshop Elements 6 ships for Mac
I think I'll hold off till I actually see it at the Apple Store -- I prefer to have an actual CD in case I have to reinstall. (Kudos to Mariner Software -- you pay about $10 for the downloadable version of their software, but if you pay the extra $10 they send you a backup CD, so you can use the software right away while waiting.)

I have CS3 on my iMac, but I like PE for the MacBook so I can do quick editing when traveling especially if I'm sending photos home to family, and for much of what I do iPhoto is too limited. Was impressed with the new PE6 when I saw the demos at MacWorld -- definitely would like to have it before my next vacation.
