I'm looking forward to this so I don't have to carry around disks with my laptop.

Re: Aspyr reveals Game Agent online store details
I've been looking forward to this for two years :( because Gamerhood originally indicated that it would be a channel for older Aspyr games that had to go by the wayside for new ones. I've been hoping for a download avenue to pick up their old titles that I passed by for whatever reason...like temporary poverty or old hardware (hmm, perhaps those two were related).

You've got a good point about carrying discs. Dealing with discs is usually what turns me off of game-playing...too lazy, I just want to play.

Re: Aspyr reveals Game Agent online store details
The new update built into their GameAgent is great and if they launch a download (please let it be global!) I will be very happy. Buying games in Denmark is almost impossible; although many stores nowadays have Macs for sale they almost never sell software, specially not games...Took me until recently to get Enemy Territory which is frustrating as I now actually can play these games (upgraded from my "old" G5). As mentioned in previous comment this will also make it easier to buy older games.

I know some stores in England have (had ?)a "burn on demand" concept - instead of having to store multiple physical copies of "not so demanded games/OS" you could choose the game/software and it burnt a CD (DVD?). I know about it as MCW UK edition wrote about it as this might make it easier to keep and sell "unusual" OS software like Mac games. Interesting solution...

The ability to play games without a DVD appeals to me. However, yet another form of DRM does not. I would have to be convinced that there are no issues with installing / re-installing the games. Similarly, I would have to be able to install on both my desktop and my laptop. However, if I have to start worrying about registering / unregistering computers, etc. in order to do the above, I'll pass.

Let's hope this offers some sort of path to getting downloadable content and ratings for the Mac version of Guitar Hero III.

Hey, a guy can dream, can't he?
