What is wrong with the Dashboard Widget that Apple provides? If you devmode you dashboard you can have that application on your desktop at all times. And oh yeah, one word-Quicksilver.

Re: TapDex 3.3.2

TapDex and BuddyPop have more features than the Dashboard widget. And don't forget the vehement opposition some people have to anything relating to Dashboard ;) As for Quicksilver, some people don't need everything QuickSilver (or LaunchBar or Butler) provides; for those just looking for a quick way to access contact info, something like TapDex or BuddyPop is easier to use and has a more-appropriate feature set.

Options are good.

Yeah I agree that having different options is great considering not everybody thinks the same. As for me trying this application seems like a waste of space. The more you become familiar you become with Quicksilver the more you notice it's simplicity. I'm sure you know what I mean. Thanks for the reply.

Re: TapDex 3.3.2
So glad you guys found TapDex, Dan! I've been using it for a year or so and it's just great, especially with the Vonage Dialing (nice touch). Their iTunes helper, SizzlingKeys, has a dumb name, but is equally wonderful.

I am a recent QuickSilver adopter (after having used F10 Launch Studio for about 5 years) and love it, but the quick, heads-up display that TapDex provides can't be beat.

As for Dashboard fans, God bless you, but if I just need an address or phone number, I don't need the current time, weather, stocks, news, etc. to pop up as well!

Hi Dan
Just a comment on BuddyPop, which I agree WAS great. I had been using it for years on my old G4, upgraded to Leopard a few months back and BuddyPop no longer works (Apple Internal Modem doesn't dial, hardware tests OK, other apps like Zterm work OK, but BuddyPop does not). I tried contacting the developer -- no response. While I can't be 100% sure that the problem is with BuddyPop (i.e. might be with Leopard), I do know that BuddyPop stopped working when I upgraded to Leopard, and the developer doesn't reply. You might want to check whether BuddyPop is still supported.
