MS Office 2008: Proofing Tools?

When I installed MS Office 2008:Mac, a ton of "Proofing Tools" files were written to my hard drive for the Finnish, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch and French languages.

What are "Proofing Tools" and why do I need these other languages if I only work in one, English?

-Hi,

Those Proofing Tools are used for spell checking/thesaurus on the different languages. A 'custom install' gives you the option of NOT installing some of MS's software. Adobe is also good at tossing in tons of fonts not needed. Or in some cases 'needed'.
