Java Applets

I am interested in knowing what is the general experience of Leopard users running Java Applets. For a couple of months I have had trouble getting into Pogo Bridge games rooms because of Java Applet problems. I have tried various suggestions and Pogo support have not been able to resolve this. I believe it is a Mac OSX problem, but I have no idea if it is being fixed by the Mac engineers . Is anyone running Leopard able to play Pogo games?

Is it just bridge that is causing issues? I couldn't try it because it requires sign up, but the guest games I tried on that site all worked fine on Leopard and the latest version of Java (I tried in Safari and Firefox 3). Have you ensured you are using the latest Java version available through Software Update?

Thanks for your interest. I only play Bridge on Pogo. I use J2SE 5.0 which I believe is the latest apart from J2SE 6.0 which I think only works on 64 bit browsers of which there aren't any for Mac as far as I know. Also, I think Java comes with the OS in Leopard and cannot be installed separately. I did reinstall the OS 10.5.2 upgrade to see if that would help but it didn't. I have not downloaded the 10.5.3 upgrade as I see many problems reported on that. So what is the answer? I continue to hope that someone else who plays Bridge on Pogo will come across a solution. Thanks again.
