Entourage and Jaguar

Computer: Ti Powerbook, 500/1GB RAM.

Since I installed Jaguar, I notice Entourage accesses the hard drive for almost every action.

As far as I can remember this did not happend using 10.1.5.

Anyone else find the same to be true?

I've seen several people report that Entourage in 10.2 logs some deprecated calls to the console. (You could open the Console application from the Utilities folder to check if that's the case for you.)

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I must admit to being a UNIX newbie, and don't understand what is happening. Further, is there anything to prevent what may be happening from happening?

I just got this tip for Entourage off another forum. Try rebuilding your Entourage database (hold down the option key when you start Entourage). It fixed all the pauses I was having.

In fact, car1son pointed me to this on MacFixIt

Thanks. I know that has worked for some, I tried in both the regular(?), and advanced methods. I don't think there was any improvement at all. If there was, it was so slight as to go unnoticed.

I have Entourage running on my Wallstreet (G3), and it is faster than on the G4.

Hoping the next system update may cure the problem.

From the rumor read me's I've read, I believe extra Entourage compatability is supposed to included in 10.2.1.

OK, so who else who's read this thread...and the 5 line description of the "Entourage compatibilites in X.2.1"...is still having problems? I think MS should have given more extensive documentation.

I'm having intermittent crashes in Entourage. I've opened the console and haven't noticed any strange activity when running the app, have rebuilt my dbase, have trashed prefs....any suggestions?
