Trying to access IRS form - will not allow...what to do?

I hope I am posting to the right place and someone can assist? I am trying to access a link on this website --http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=102767,00.html -- the "Apply Online Now" and it will not allow me to access to create an EIN No. I have gone to System Requirements (link on the same page), however, no info. on Mac requirements. Can anyone help me here? Thanks!

It is possible that the IRS' sercure website might not be compatible with Safari (I am assuming that you are using Safari). Have you tried Firefox?

I hit the link and Safari Version 3.1.1 (4525.18) didn't work. I loaded the link into FF 3.0b5, and it would have worked. Peter

I tried the site side by side in Safari and Firefox on a Mac Pro running Leopard. Then I tried it in Safari on an old PowerMac running OS 10.3. In all three cases, the site opened fine and let me progress through several screens until I stopped (when some guy wearing sunglasses driving a black Crown Vic drove up). My settings include: * Popup blockers ON * Cookies ON — Safari set to “Only from sites you navigate to” * JavaScript and other stuff at default settings.

Martian, I'm using Tiger OS 10.4.11. I re-did the link in Safari and it failed, FF worked fine, same settings as you, and I'll call your Panther, using Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6), and it worked. So maybe some little thing in Tiger. Gotta go, the helicopters are hovering. Peter (aka) Peter PS I get this popup in Tiger: web address +>>because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server

Hi...I know....they don't support Safari. Try using another browser. I haven't done it trying a different browser, but I know you can't do it using Safari. Been there. Done that. No government forms support Safari. You may have to go to a library and use a windows machine. Good luck. Alida Cornelius My blog.... http://t-shirtstalkandtimeonmyhands.blogspot.com/
