MiniDisc, right thing for me?
I am a web designer for a large publishing house and do some podcasting on the side. Usually I do all my podcasting on my mac, so I do not have any equipment that I can take "on the road" unless I take my MacBook and set everything up.
Since the website for the pubishing house will now also feature interviews and other podcasts I need to purchase a small recodring device to take along.
The ideal scenario would be something that creates a file time-stamped file (very important) from the recording that can then be dragged over to the mac, thrown into logic, etc.
I used to have a MiniDisc recorder but the mac support was attrocious to non-existent. Has that gotten better? Do they offer time-stamped files now?
Judging from the horrible Sony documentation online, their focus has not gotten any better, which is also why I post these questions here.
I am also considering solid state recorders, such as the Fostex LE which does all I need and saves to Flash media but is a tad more than the admittedly cheap publishing house is willing to spring for.
Any feedback would be quite appreciated.
