iPod Touch gets not enough respect from Google! (GAfYD+webmaster toolkit)...?

I (and three of my clients) have websites set up with pages CNAMEd to Google Apps for Your Domain. As you all know, an iPod Touch (or an iPhone) is perfectly able to display a web page just as well as "the big boys." But, somehow, when Google traps a call to the CNAMEd file, the Google Webmaster Toolkit displays the page without CSS, as if the page were being displayed for a mobile device (e.g., small-screen mobile phone)! Strangely enough, one may bypass the Google Webmaster Toolkit by spelling out the full URL. Instead of cname.domain.com one types cname.domain.com/filename.htm ...and the CSS is parsed correctly on the iPod Touch! Does anyone here know of a way in which one may set up a web page, or an iPod Touch, to get around this?
