Face Recognition Software to match photos in database

Hello everyone,

This may be beyond the scope of this particular forum, but I didn't know where else to post it. I'm looking for face recognition software for the Mac. I'd like to mount a wireless camera at my front door, and have it scan and match the visitor's face to the photos in my address book contacts. Does anyone know of anything that can do this?

I don't know exactly what you are trying to do a little more info would help.....but Macworld did a couple of articles about face recognition software for the Mac:

Hmm... maybe if I were a programmer, I'd be able to use Ria's API to create something for my purposes. See, what I'd like to do is to mount a wireless cam at my front door which can scan a visitor's face, match it against the photos in my contacts database and determine who - if of my acquaintance - has come visiting. Does that make sense?
