Okay, now I'm positive it's not the iMac. Mine was at the Apple store getting its power supply replaced and hers was on my desk because she was on vacation. I did not have any network failures. Zip. Zero. Nada.

I am baffled. What the heck could she be doing that would cause the network communication to her iMac to be interrupted? This is too weird.

Hi -I,

There are a few sites that mention Filemaker as being impatient w/ Internet connections. Not using FP any longer I really couldn't add much.

Hi doug,

We are using Filemaker Pro 8 and Tiger. We have our shared databases "hosted" on a PowerMac G5 2.3 GHz DP, and we all connect to the shared databases by Open>Remote>Hosts>XXXMac>XXXAvailable File, or by using the "Open recent" shortcut under the file menu. There are four of us sharing the files, and only the one iMac giving its user any grief. I changed out her ethernet cable again (this time to a shorter one), maybe that will help.

Hi -I,

Speaking of ethernet: Our G4 DP was having intermittent disconnect running on LAN w/ an iMac. Ran across a post that said unplug the ethernet cable after shutdown for a couple minutes. I know...sounds silly, but it worked. No problems since. But I'm thinking its more to do w/ FM Pro ::guessing::

Hope the shorter cable does the trick. Let us know and good luck...
