Backup solution

Hi. I'm looking for ideas for a good backup scheme for a couple of Macs I'm running with a considerable amount of important data. I've got the infrastructure to go with network-based backup, e.g. with network hard drives et al. I prefer not to use Time Machine though and cannot use it anyhow on one of the Macs as it's still running Tiger. Any suggestions?

Re: Backup solution
Have you looked at Retrospect? Great program for a network or when working in several Macs. You can backup to various devices. Such as servers, hard drives, CD/DVD ect. It is a little pricy, but if you are looking for a good backup this is worth looking at.

Re: Backup solution
Many folks like SuperDuper and Carbon Copy Cloner.

both allow you to make bootable backups and make incremental backups as well.

Re: Backup solution
We use a combination of Retrospect and Carbon Copy Cloner. We use Retrospect for the scheduled overnight backups and we use Carbon Copy Cloner to make our disk images.
