Finally got my new Macbook Pro

YESSSSS!!! i finally got my macbook pro, my first mac ever. I was messing with it last night when i got home with it, and getting used to alot of the freatures that make mac great....but i know i only barely got a glimpse of the greatness of this machine. So i wanted to ask what are some of the cool things/features about this computer that i should explore and try out??? Thanks in advance.

that's an extremely open ended question. you should try being more specific. everything's awesome about macs.

Re: Finally got my new Macbook Pro
If I were you, I would buy a book about OSX Leopard to understand the power behind being simple. Also, try Apple's website for tutorials.. helps a great deal to get around OS X. In my experience (by using Windows too much), at first I tried too hard doing simple things in OSX that over complicated everything. Once you get the mentality on which OSX works, everything starts flowing much much better. Good luck! and congrats on your purchase!

Check out Expose and Spaces in system preferences. These are some of my favorite features Windows doesn't have.

Other than that, I also suggest looking at some of Apple's tutorials on their site. They are a great way to get started.

From there, just play around. In System Preferences, go through each pane and set up things the way you like. Open all the Apps and get a feel for their power. Apple offers a great Grapher application located in the Utilities folder. This folder can be found inside the application folder.

Let us know if you have any questions along the way.

One of my personal favorite shortcuts is CMD (Flower button) + CTRL + D while hovering over some text. It will bring up a mini-dictionary that will define the word under the mouse, no highlighting required! :)

It doesn't work everywhere but it works most places, useful for when you need a quick definition.
