Will The price drop on the iPod Touch when the software update is released on July 11th?

The difference in price between the ipod touch and the expected price of the iPhone 3G does not make sense. I am a mac guy and a car guy. Porsche is always changing the gearing of the cars to make cheaper ones slower. For example, the Porsche Cayman S is 10,000 dollars less than the 911 and should theoretically be faster, but the cheaper cars are always slower in their mind, so it is slower than the 911. That idea can be applied perfectly to the ipod touch and iphone. The iPhone 3G, even though it is more expensive over 2 years, is going to be less expensive than the ipod touch at the counter. I know you have to sign the contract then and there, but the cheaper base price is what the typical consumer will look at. This price difference between the $300 iPod Touch and the $199 iPhone that has more features simply does not make sense. The least apple can do is drop the price of the Touch with the software update on July 11 and/or include a GPS chip in the iPod.
