Ipod 3rd gen


I have a 3rd gen Ipod. When I charge the battery it runs for a few minutes and then stops and reboots. From that point on everytime I try to play a sone it reboots. If I plug the ipod into an outlet it works just fine. Any help on this would be appreciated.
