Accessing Drop Down Menus in MS Word on G3

Hi All - My first visit to this forum. Bear with me!
I have a G3 with OS 9.2. For some unknown reason I cannot access a number of the drop down menus in MS Word including the formatting palette. File, Edit, View, Font and help are fine. The ones that don't drop down are Insert, Format,Tools,Table, Window and Work.
Any suggestions most welcome.

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried deleting words preference file? It's in the system folder/ preferences.

Thanks for reply but no success. The drop down menus work fine with Powerpoint and Excel but not Word.
