capturing video through fw400/800 on the new MBP?

If I have a firewire 400 device(DV camcorder) and several FW800
harddrives. Can I run all of them through the same chain into one FW800
port on the new MBP? And if so, is there any problems capturing video.

Thanks in advance.

Re: capturing video through fw400/800 on the new MBP?

I had problems daisy chaining a Canon camcorder and firewire drives into either the 400 or 800 port last year. I finally just plugged the camera into the port and used the internal drive. Before I posted this answer though I checked around and found this link to an Apple support page. I may have had the wrong format on the external hard drive. From what I read, Apple says it will work. I may try again during the Christmas season to see if I can get it working.
