Making a Playlist for a Garmin GPS

Happy Holidays everyone. I bought a Garmin Nuvi 360 as a Christmas gift for my brother and am trying to load some music on it for him. I'l like to make some Playlists, but I can't figure out how to make a M3U or M3U8 file, which is required by Garmin. Here are the instructions:

To create a playlist on a
computer:

1. Using your computer and an audio
program, create a playlist of music
files. Save the playlist as an M3U
or M3U8 file.

Note: You may need to edit the
M3U file with a text editor, such
as Notepad, to remove the path
(link) to the music file. The M3U
file should only list the music
file names. Refer to the audio
program’s Help file.
2. Transfer the playlist and the music
files to the nüvi or SD drive (see
pages 25–26). The M3U file must
be in the same location as the
music files.

I'm going to put the music on a 4GB SD disk that goes into the Garmin. Any help would be most appreciated.
I do have TextWrangler if I need a text editor. (never used it)

I have a 24" imac, OS 10.5.5/3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. iTunes v8.02. The nuvi software is up to date. Thanks,

Bill

Re: Making a Playlist for a Garmin GPS
I did something similar recently and without reading any instructions just loaded a bunch of MP3's onto a 1 GB SD card and plugged it into a Garmin Nuvi 750 and the MP3's played OK. However, the Mp3.s were just in a random order, not in any playlist order after doing so.

Will a 4 GB SD card work in the Garmin?
