My problem is I want to use BOXEE, but cannot get a user ID. How much longer will we have to wait for access??

I have applied for a Boxee user ID three times over the last 2 months and I STILL have no access! So great, but who cares!

Re: The Boxee rebellion
I signed up only two or three weeks ago, and received an invitation last week. If you have a spam blocker, the email comes from support@boxee.tv . Good luck.

Re: The Boxee rebellion
Doug,

How long ago was that?

I tried using the TUAW and I got the same response saying that they only send out invites on Mondays and due to the backlog it could take several weeks for me to get one.

Re: The Boxee rebellion
So what is the catch?
Does the Boxee group collect the never-really-anonymous "aggregate data"? Is it tracking my every multimedia move like Google does with websearches and wants to do with online workspaces?
If I enter in login/pwords for the websites Netflix, flickr, last.fm, et al, does Boxee see them?

I wish to know how much privacy and security I am giving up to have all these apparently neat features.
Thanks!

Re: The Boxee rebellion
Boxee on my Apple TV has led me to exploring more content that is simply not available in the iTunes store. I stopped buying TV shows from the iTunes store a couple of months ago and have not looked back. This is what the Apple TV SHOULD have been all along. Apple will never (please prove me wrong, Apple) embrace this type of model (that consumers seem to love), which will likely lead to the demise of the Apple TV in the future as sales slide ever downward (or just never upward).

Sorry, I don't get it:

Yep, you can now use Boxee to browse, queue, and play streaming Netflix video. No support for Netflix on the Apple TV. Yet.<

Can you or can't you get Netflix on Apple TV via Boxee?

When did Apple forget that they are a HARDWARE company that makes software to enable sales.

Re: The Boxee rebellion
I'd say give it a try again for the boxee invite. I just did my about an hour ago, checked Windows/Apple, got an invite immediately.

You can't. Boxee is more than just an application that you can run on your Apple TV. It's also a media browser you run on your computer. So, Netflix support comes with the computer-based Boxee but not yet on the Apple TV version.
