I have recently moved from PC to Mac and purchased a 24 inch iMac for the purpose of image and video editing on a purely home/amateur basis. I have a high def Canon HF10 camcorder. I want to edit and create footage for viewing at or close to high def resolution. Can I maintain HD resolution and edit in iMovie and then burn the file in HD resolution on a
regular DVD using iDVD or do I need to upgrade to Final Cut Express and /or Toast? I have a BluRay player that can read AVCHD footage on regular DVDs.
I have spoken to many Mac retail and training people and read many articles on this and have had many different answers.Basically I want to know the simplest and cheapest way of archiving the stunning quality footage from this HD camera.
