What Mac software for creating an e-commerce site?

I want to create an e-commerce site with features like an ordering page that takes paypal and credit cards, autoresponders, a pop-up form on the home page that offers to subscribe visitors to my newsletter, possibly a popup that asks visitors if they really want to leave without subscribing, etc. These advanced features are beyond my capability to learn easily, and I understand that I should be willing to hire someone to do this if I ultimately want to earn some money.

I would like to create the basic site myself, however, so I can easily make updates, but what editor should I use? Dreamweaver is a little overkill, but template based programs like RapidWeaver and iWeb require the programs themselves to make changes, programs that a local HTML expert is not likely to use.

So the dilemma of what should I use???

Timothy,

This gets pretty hairy with security and all. You will need a "CMS" (content management system). Here are a few things to look at.

Joomla

Drupal

Expression Engine

Wordpress (prob not a great ecommerce solution)

I know yahoo has some solutions and you may consider craiglist or ebay for just getting started.
