Saving a DVD for playing

I want to be able to save some DVDs on my HD so I can play them. How do I do this?

I figured how to save an image to burn a new disc but can't figure how to save it in a playable form.

while I take the stand that if you make legal purchase of dvd's, making archival copy for yourself is perfectly legal.
others take the stand that any type of copy is illegal and if you ruin your dvd playing it, tough beans go buy another. poo on that as far as I am concerned. I willingly buy once. then i protect my investment.

but to answer your question, I use MacTheRipper.
fortune in finding it as they tend to move around alot.

I don't have the newest Toast, so i can't answer that one. but most of your big name software companies really don't want to get into the legal hassles of DVD "archiving" that can be used to "archive" on everyone else's computer.

m sure others will chime in with alternatives as well.
