Freeverse Software sells a game called 3D Spades Deluxe that can be played against the computer or against their own game matching service, GameSmith. A demo version is available for download from their Web site.

Hardwood Spades may be the best online spades site out there. However, you can get banned or restricted from their site if you say something that they consider offensive. For example, I was relegated to an unmoderated spades room because I said "In my country we eat cats.". An unmoderated spades room has no players and is the same as being banned from the site. Now, if you send their admin an email asking why you're restricted, they don't answer. So in effect, they just take your money and give you no services and no recourse to resolve the problem. I was a member for two years. I won't renew my subscription.

Finally, if any of you Mac programmers come up with an online spades site....count me in.
