Airport Extreme work with Verizon fiber optic?

Does anyone have experience with their Airport Extreme working with Verizon's fiber optic (Fios) internet connection? Their web site claims OSX compatibility, but they use their own hardware and software. I have no problem with Verizon DSL, without their software. I don't want to lose my Airport network by changing. (Verizon is packaging phone, TV, and internet service on their Fios network.)

Thanks

They will give a router (which you will need because it connects to the coax in your house). You aren't required to install software, but to set up your internet connection the first time, you'll need to use their software. Once the setup is done, you can turn the wireless off in their router, attach the WAN port of the Airport Extreme to one of the LAN ports of the router you're given, and you should be good to go.

Re: Airport Extreme work with Verizon fiber optic?
Any idea how to shut off the wireless router feature on the Verizon FiOS modem? I have my AirPort Extreme connected via ethernet to my FiOS router and I have my Macs, XBox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii connected to the network created on the AirPort Extreme. Since I don't use the Verizon FiOS wireless network, I'd like to shut it off. Any advice?
