.mkv format and Toast 9 (DVD Conversion)

So I had a post last week which you were all very kind and informative in helping me solve so I thank you. However, I have another question where I could use some help. I have come across a few .mkv files (lost HD episodes) and would like to watch them on my ps3 blu ray player. What is the best way to keep the same quality as the .mkv but able to view on my blu-ray player. I have Toast 9 but am not sure of a great method without re-encoding all my 2+GB files. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: .mkv format and Toast 9 (DVD Conversion)
Without a blu-ray DVD burner, as far as I know there is no way to maintain the high definition resolution. Burning in 720p or 1080i from an MKV right now. Without re-encoding it.

If you don't mind burning in 480 (regular dvd, standard definition resolution- 720 x 480 )You can try MKN Converter to convert it straight to DVD format then use Toast to burn it.

or the simple answer would be to burn your MKV files in Toast 9 straight to DVD.

What if you get the HD-BD plugin for Toast 9, then you can burn .MKV format and playback on DVD's...

correct?
